As a licensed Edmonton Insolvency Trustee we administer Consumer Proposals. If you’ve arrived at our site you’re probably looking for information on what these involve. In short, a Licensed Insolvency Trustee or Bankruptcy Trustee is the only professional authorized and legislated by the government to administer proposals on behalf of debtors.
A Consumer Proposal will help you with your unsecured debt, usually credit card or any type of debt that is not secured by an asset, ie: Revenue Canada debt, pay day loans, cell phone bills. A Bankruptcy Trustee (Insolvency Trustee) will work with you, to propose to your creditors a solution that will get you out from under the overwhelming debt, sometimes offering them less than 50 cents on the dollar. If the majority of creditors (dollar wise) agree to the proposal, then all of the unsecured creditors are bound to the proposal. What is advantageous to the consumer is that it does not involve additional fees or interest that might be associated with debt consolidation loans.
Rather than go into detailed information on this page, click here to see more about the whole consumer proposal process and how we help people start and finish the process.

Trustees are highly educated, federally licensed and federally regulated professionals that legally and ethically deal with your debt. Our programs were designed by the government to help the honest debtor deal with overwhelming debt. There are many other types of companies in the marketplace who claim to deal with debt but in fact may make it worse before we can make it better. Advertising as Debt Consolidators, Credit Counselors, Debt Settlement or Debt Restructuring, these companies may not have the ability or legal jurisdiction to solve your debt problem. Creditors are under no legal obligation to deal with them, and remember it if sounds too good to be true, it probably is. They may be able to work out a repayment plan on your behalf involving large upfront fees or “referral fees” to refer you to a licensed Trustee. You do not need a referral to deal with a Trustee, you don’t need to pay a middleman or pay additional fees. In fact these types of firms are being scrutinized to protect consumers.
We are your local Edmonton Bankruptcy Trustee and licensed professional, large enough to have all the answers but small enough to care, offering multiple solutions to the debt problem, not just bankruptcy. Most of our business comes by way of referral, not an easy thing to say in an industry where most people don’t talk about their financial problems to friends and neighbors. Operating in Calgary and Edmonton since 1997, we have earned our excellent Better Business Bureau reputation and Consumer Choice Awards through hard work and dedication to our clients.
